RE: Convection Oven - Turntable

For a convection oven to work most efficient, the food (pan) should be on a rack to allow air flow underneath. Remove the turntable and place your pan on a rack. Ours came with two racks of different heights to use for different cooking.

RE: St. Louis to Port Aransas

Your plan to take I-55 south to West Memphis will get you south of most of the uncertain weather.
Then:
I-40 west to Little Rock.
I-30 to Dallas
I-35 to San Antonio
I-37 to Corpus Christi

RE: Heat Pump or A/C with heat strip

Bear in mind that most heat pumps do not work in below freezing weather. They generally are set to go off between 38/40 degrees. In factory installed units, when the heat pump turns off, the gas furnace will come on.

RE: I-40 south on CA 95 or AZ 95?

Time wise CA 95 will be quicker. Just a long mostly straight road. AZ 95 will be more scenic. The drive thru Lake Havasu City, AZ stretches for miles. The good part is a chance to see a little history in the London Bridge. Parker, AZ wont be all that bad. Q, isn't all that bad untill the last of Jan, when 10 of thousands RVers gather for the RV and other shows.
If I just want to get from I-40 to I-10, I would take CA 95 from Needles to Blythe.

RE: Wife wants to go to Nashville, Knoxville and Charleston

Kevin, No mater what route you take thru East Tennessee in May should be beautiful. The dogwood and redbud trees should be in full bloom. You could visit Fall Creek Falls State Park on the way from Nashville to Knoxville. This is one of Tennessee's best state parks. Of Course, you have to visit the Smokey Mountain National Park.
Like the other posters state, Cumberland Gap is in the tri-angle of KY,VA,and TN. I don't see it in a convenient route for you. It is an interesting area though. With the building of the tunnel thru the gap, the Park service has rebuilt the Daniel Boone trail to pre-highway days. Real nice hike.
If I can help you more send me a PM or Email.

RE: Fuel prices in Quartzsite, AZ

This link from MSN works for me. The Flying J at the AZ/CA line is the cheapest.
While in that direction go on over into Blythe. You will find a large supermarket there. Then, too, the Walmart in Parker may be open by now.If you're talking about the one on the Calif side, it's going to be WAY more expensive than anything in Az.
Jeff, I wasn't aware that Flying J had a stop on the Calif. side of the river. When did they build it? It does not show on my searches.

The object of the space blanket is to reflect heat. I would think the closer to the body, the more effective it would be.

RE: Any Construction delays - I 75 - OH to FL?

Instead of trying to tell you about all the construction on I-75 thru TN, I thought it would be best to post the T DOT Map. It may take a moment to load, depending on your connection.

RE: Hi- Looking for advice on route to Florida from Chicago

Monteagle pass, over the Eastern Continental Divide, is considered one of the most hazardous stretches of Interstate highway in the country. The 4% to 6% grade coming down into Chattanooga goes on for miles and caused a many truck driver to wet his pants.
I haven't had the pleasure of coming down the grade. It's a pain going up.
You say you have done it once. Apparently you survived. Probably learned something also. Don't know what you are driving, but start slow and gear down.

RE: Irv2 RV Forum

Wonder what is happening? Just tried again using the same Bookmark I've used for the last 2 years and it still says unable to find this page. I know last week there was a message on the start of the forum that they were making changes Monday after 11:00 PM, but now can't even get there.

Have you tried going to www.irv2.com, then going to the forum of choice?
